Why 50+ is your superpower era: the ProAge community

From working-class beginnings to business owner to executive coach for women over 40, my journey has been anything but linear. At 50, struggling with midlife challenges and feeling my best years were behind me, I never imagined I'd discover my true calling a decade later and start the ProAge community.

As a qualified executive coach, I'm passionate about helping women over 40 navigate their next chapter with purpose and confidence. Whether you're a professional at a crossroads, thinking about returning to work after raising a family, pursuing dreams you've put on hold, navigating relationship changes, or reimagining what's next, I work with women across all industries and locations who are ready to embrace their evolution with intention.

These days, I believe midlife isn't about winding down, I see it more as your opportunity to redefine who you are and create your most meaningful chapter yet. I will be honest, that wasn't my view when I turned 50 over ten years ago. The truth of it was, all I could see back then was a decline and the loss of the person I knew to be me, being replaced by a woman who was losing her zest for life through consistently poor sleep, erratic emotional behaviour, loss of memory (sometimes I'd forget my daughter's date of birth!) bad eating habits, too much alcohol and the inability to walk up a hill without struggling to breathe. In short, I was a bit of a mess.

Why I do this work

At 58, despite co-running a thriving digital agency with my husband and business partner, I found myself utterly exhausted and out of balance (all of the above). The relentless pace had left me disconnected from myself and questioning what truly mattered. That wake-up call led me to step back, reclaim my health, and discover my true calling in executive coaching.

I understand the complexity of midlife transitions because I've lived them. The feeling of "Is this it?" when success doesn't feel fulfilling anymore. The challenge of navigating perimenopause and menopause while leading others. The pull between what you've built and what you're being called to become. These aren't just professional challenges—they're whole-person experiences that require a different kind of support.

My approach: the thinking partnership

Unlike traditional advisory relationships, I create what I call a "thinking partnership" with the women I coach. I serve as your guide and question master, creating a reflective space where you can think more clearly and deeply than you might on your own. This isn't about me providing ready-made solutions, it's about enhancing your thinking capacity when navigating complex personal and professional transitions.

This approach is particularly valuable for executives who constantly make decisions for others but rarely have dedicated space to think about their own path forward. Together, we create that space, one where clarity emerges, possibilities expand, and confident decisions can be made about what truly matters to you.

My background

I hold a postgraduate qualification in Executive Coaching and bring over four decades of business experience, rising from office junior (they had those back in the 70s) to business owner and then coach. On a personal level, I've navigated divorce, single parenting, perimenopause and menopause transition and all the other 'stuff' life throws at us.

My journey from working-class beginnings with a basic education to self-taught leadership skills was shaped by watching and learning from those leaders I was privileged to support and who nurtured me. They encouraged me to learn and grow through on the job experience. Learning to fail as well as thrive was all part of the learning journey as it's only through our mistakes that we truly grow.

It was through the care and support I was lucky enough to have experienced in various corporate roles, that then led me to start my first business and create opportunities for others. Being a business owner taught me the power of resilience, adaptability, and self-belief, qualities I now help other women recognise and leverage in their own lives.

What drives my passion for this work is witnessing the transformation that happens when women give themselves permission to explore what's next. I specialise in working with professional women over 40 who are facing midlife transitions, whether that's career changes, health challenges, family shifts, or simply that inner knowing that you're ready for something different.

The ProAge vision

Through my coaching practice and the ProAge community I'm building, I'm creating resources for women who refuse to see midlife as a decline. ProAge is about ageing with confidence and intention, recognising that your experience isn't just valuable, it's your superpower. The challenges you've overcome, the wisdom you've earned, and the strengths you've developed are precisely what will fuel your most meaningful contributions yet.

This community will offer executive coaching, lifestyle guidance and connection points for women who believe their best chapter is still ahead of them.
